Mandala
Algorhythm
This is music from the heart — flowing, intuitive, and expressed through means that can be naturally understood by a broader audience. At the same time, it operates on more complex levels: intellectually, under the microscope, where one can notice intricate detail, rhythmic and harmonic textures, and a blending of multiple genres, including elements of free improvisation. The album’s title refers to the tradition of Tibetan monks creating mandalas — intricate, lace-like patterns made from colored sand, based on the circle and the square, which are then ritually destroyed as a reminder of the impermanence of all things.
