Turmmusik

Tubicinatores Gedanenses is the only ensemble in Poland specializing in historical trumpet music, consistently reviving the sound of early trumpet corps. An ensemble of historical trumpets and percussion is an extremely rare sight today. In the past, however, it was a common presence — at royal courts, in the chaos of battle, or sounding from church towers and town halls in wealthy cities. This album features chorales that once accompanied life in the historic City on the Motława River. Though religious in nature, this music was often used for secular purposes as well, marking various social occasions with ceremonial sound.
